Do you ever have people in your life that from the moment you meet them you want to be their friend? Those folks are just genuine "good people." That's how I felt about Jen when I met her. We met in a new mom's support group when our eldest children were first born. Many of us in that group have kept in touch since then, and it's been wonderful to share in the joys and challenges of parenthood and to watch our kids grow up.
When Jen invited me over for a photo session with her family, I was overjoyed. I was even more excited when I get to find that they are still in their PJs and want me to capture the real story of them hanging out on a Saturday morning. For a documentary photographer, this is a dream come true.
We had a great time together. I hung with them while they read books, played with legos, built forts and fed a giraffe (yes, you'll see). I can't wait to have the chance to do it again.
