Oakland-San Francisco Portrait Photographer- My Two Worlds Happily Collide

I have a day job. I should't call it that.  In addition to my photography pursuits, I have another career in public health. My role is largely administrative, and is definitely the ying to my photographer's yang. Rarely do the two meet.  Except for one day they did. Thanks to my coworker and friend (shout-out to Lisa Reyes!), I was asked to take a series of portraits to be included in an upcoming report.  It was the most fun I've had at work in a really long time, and I really hope to have the opportunity to blend my worlds again soon.

The ladies featured here are survivors. They've faced ridicule, in some cases endured abuse.  But they are here, and they are strong, and they are joyful and full of life.  If I can embody an ounce of their courage, I'd be doing really good. I have the honor of being inspired by them on a daily basis, and for that I am grateful.
